The journey of Kalamandir was started from Hyderabad, Telangana as a retailer of sarees in the year 2005 at a very modest scale. Within a short span, the brand was able to find a safe place in the hearts of countless women. It was a never before ever seen love towards our brand from our loyal customers. This support and encouragement from our customers inspired us in expanding our wings, resulting in multiple store openings in a very short period.
Started as a partnership firm in 2005, the firm was converted into a private limited company in the year 2008. Later it was converted into a public limited company and received fresh certificate of incorporation on May 21, 2009 from the ROC. Started on a 3213 sq.ft of retail area, now the firm has a retail selling area of more than 2 Lakhs sq.ft.
In this busy world where corporate are often behind profits, we were exception and always believed that there should be a give and take policy. A noble thought of being responsible towards society beyond business gave a way to Kalamandir Foundation, a Corporate Social Responsibility division of Kalamandir. A noble thought should be initiated on a noble day, which can be only the birthday of our CMD. Thus Kalamandir Foundation was launched on 7th July, 2010 on the auspicious occasion of the birthday of Shri Prasad Chalavadi, the founder, Chairman & Managing Director. The primary aim of foundation is to create awareness on protecting our environment, nature and social health.
While the foundation was officially established in 2010, Kalamandir was active on the needs of the society much before. The seeds of CSR were sown much earlier when Kalamandir responded to a serious flood crisis in 2009 at Kurnool where food, clothes and other essential items were sent to the affected areas in large quantity. Kalamandir has started practicing CSR much before the Central Government mandating companies to plough back at least 2 per cent of their profit on upliftment of the society which came into force from 1st April 2014. So foundation is officially 5 years old but 6 years old in terms of service.
Since inception, foundation has come a long way in terms of service and giving back to the society.
